Tuesday 29th May
Weather has been hot, hot and hotter this past week or so. Of course we are never happy are we, but enough already .... some cooler, breezier but still dry weather would be good now :o)
Still enough of the weather and on to show news ... it has been a good few days for Seamus and his children to say the least. Seamus was Best of Breed at Bath under judge, Ray Strudwick and went on to another Group 2 under Jock Mackay. His son, Artycreath Apollo was Best Puppy in Breed and won the Gundog Puppy Group too. Congrats from both of us!
In Norway, under Fran Glendinning at the Norwegian Spaniel Club Championship Show, Seamus' little daughter, Desperados Aya was Best of Breed and placed BIS2 by judge Jessie Madsen of Kennel Siegers. Really well done - so pleased for you. Photos of Aya on the day below - click on them to enlarge.
Tuesday 22nd May
Some super show news to share from the past weekend .... firstly and most importantly, Hope (P Heaven Sent at Lordsett) went off to the World Dog Show in Salzburg with owners Kasia and Marcin and came home with a World Winners title, finishing Best Bitch there. Fantastic news. Many congratulations to you both not least of course, for adding to Zeneck's titles winning World Winner male, BOB and Best in Group VIII!!! We are so very pleased for you both and only sorry we were not there to share in your wonderful successes! Such a lovely win for Hope who is still only 20 months old and in particular that she has followed in the footsteps of her father, Ch Barecho Zuper Playmaker who took the World Winners title in Paris last year. Some photos have been added to Hope's gallery of the win.....
Peasblossom Kashmir 'Twiggy' attended SSRK Frösön show in Sweden under judge, Lena Rollmar and finished Best Puppy In Breed and went on to finish BEST PUPPY IN SHOW!! Her little brother Wayne (P Knock Out) was BOS Puppy on the day at his first show. Congratulations!
Finally, Rafferty and Willow went to Wickford and Basildon at the weekend, for the opinion of judge, Nicola Cameron. Rafferty was declared Best Puppy In Breed, won the Gundog Puppy Group under Linda Thorogood and was finally awarded BEST PUPPY IN SHOW under judge, Roberta Wright. A really lovely day!!!
Tuesday 15th May
Well just when we thought things couldn't possibly get any worse, we went to the National! Not our best day it has to be said .... Note to self : must listen to husband more often!
Nevertheless there have been some good results around and about for other Peasblossoms. At her second show at Fermoy All Breed International Ch. Show, Peasblossom Jezebel (Jez) went BPIB and BPIG for her owner Brendan Beattie. 'Twiggy' (P Kashmir at Barecho) was also BPIS at Vadstena Open Show in Sweden at the weekend. Well done from us both.
Finally we have updated our Planned Puppies page with details of our next hoped for litter at Peasblossom.
Friday 4th May
Last weekend was WELKS with judge, Caroline Robinson. Apalling weather and conditions - the worst possible dog show weather unfortunately. It was a first for Rafferty in Minor Puppy Dog, a third for Kye in Limit, second for Willow in Minor Puppy Bitch and a fourth for Lila in Limit.
Wednesday 25th April
A fair while since the last update - where does the time go I wonder? Weather ... well truly atrocious for the whole month. I cannot remember a day that it didn't rain in fact and it seems as though we have even more to look forward to. Dogs are wet, muddy and fed up through lack of decent exercise. Huge sigh .....!
We have had a nice run of shows however and have managed to win BEST PUPPY IN SHOW at our last three, each with different puppies. So nice :o) Rafferty won at Windsor Gundog under Breed judge, Helen Merry, going on to BPIS under judge Linda Taylor. Great for a six month old baby at only his second show! This weekend just gone it was the ESSC of Wales Championship Show for the opinion of Marie Merchant (Clanach). Rafferty was yet again a singleton puppy in MPD but eventually was declared Best Puppy Dog. Luca won his two classes, Kye was second in Limit Dog and Lila, third in Limit Bitch. Willow won three classes and was awarded BEST PUPPY IN SHOW overall. Very happy with our day all in all .... New photos have been added from the show to the galleries of both Rafferty and Willow.
Twiggy (P Kashmir) who by all accounts appears to share more than just a name with her supermodel namesake - doesn't like eating at all ... hence a 'skinny mini' currently. She has attended her first show in Sweden however at only four months, and was awarded Best Puppy Bitch.
Nearly forgot to mention that Luca has had his first Birthday since our last update ..... it always comes round so quickly. And of course he enjoyed his first of very many, sausage ceremonies!!
Finally some new pics added to the Gallery, main menu, of Zed, Kastor, Tess and Theo.
Monday 9th April
Yesterday I took some of our dogs to the ESSC Championship Show for the opinion of judge, Lesley Bloomfield. We had a very nice day although the weather changed from glorious to dismal, typically just in time for the Easter weekend! It was Rafferty's very first show at just six months and a few days. He seemed to love his day and took everything in his stride. He won the Minor Puppy Dog class although he was sadly the only one in it. Still, his enjoyment and happiness inside the ring and outside were paramount and we were more than pleased in that respect :o) Luca won Puppy Dog and eventually was declared Best Puppy Dog. Thank you to Lesley for your handling skills xxx Seamus was placed second in Open Dog. The DCC went again to Mac - many, many congrats from us both and Seamus of course xxx Willow was placed second in Minor Puppy Bitch standing like an angel in the ring and Lila got another second in Mid Limit Bitch. Finally Luca challenged the Puppy Bitch winner and was declared BEST PUPPY IN SHOW!! Great!! Some other good places for Peasblossoms, with Halle (P Hope for Beresford) winning Graduate Bitch, Robin second in Limit Dog and Rattan, 4th in Open Bitch. Well done to all the other winners... such a nice show and lovely to meet up with all our friends.
Some other news that Brodie, (Peasblossom Geisha at Meonstoke) went Best of Breed at Romsey & District and Jez (P Jezebel - Rafferty's sister) went BPIB and was shortlisted for BPIS at her very first show, the Combined Canine All Breed Int. Ch. Show in Ireland. Well done to you both!
Finally a couple of photos added to the Gallery in the main menu of Sadie (P Dream for Amandian) who has found her raison d'etre in Agility. Sadie is a Ninja x Fritz daughter and look at how happy she looks doing what she loves! New photos added too to the respective galleries of Luca, Rafferty and Willow.
Thursday 5th April
First show of the month on April Fools Day in fact, was Lancs & Cheshire Champ Show in Crewe with judge, Moray Armstrong presiding! We had entered five dogs. Luca was placed first in Puppy Dog and ended up as Best Puppy Dog overall. It pretty much went downhill after that ha ha ....! Kye was second in a super Limit Class and Seamus was also second in Open Dog. Willow, at her very first show was placed third in Minor Puppy Bitch and Lila was also third in Limit Bitch. A pretty fair day all in all for Seamus offspring, winning a number of classes. A special well done to Mac, winning Post Grad Dog, his first CC and Best In Show! Many congratulations to Steve and Wendy on that achievement - we have no doubt that it will be the first of many such awards.
Dave was presented with a 60th Birthday cake during the lunch break - I only wish that I could say I made it all myself but sadly not. Thank you to the committee of Lancs & Cheshire who made it all happen and allowed us to celebrate his Birthday in style.
News from Denmark about Kitkat's continuing success with obedience where she has passed Grade II at her very first attempt. We are very happy too Susann :o) and not just a little bit amazed! Cannot believe that a Peasblossom could ever be that clever but then there is more .... in Belgium, P Kastor has been wowing them all at Puppy Training classes at only three months of age and after only two weeks of training has been moved from Puppy Beginners to Juniors, bypassing Puppy Advanced altogether! How about that?? Dave and I are perplexed at why our own dogs are seemingly so dim!
New photos have been added to Luca and Willow's page.
