Monday 27th February

Sorry once again for this long delay despite my promises of puppy photos to follow!  Sadly yesterday we had to take the sad decision to put our tiny girl to sleep.  She was still tiny and not really growing.  It was incredibly sad but sometimes things just aren't meant to be.  Little 'Topsy' was registed as Peasblossom Thumbelina which was a perfect name for her.  Rest In Peace special little one xxx

I have now added some photos to the Current Litters so you can see how the puppies have been developing.  Topsy is there in some of them too.  The others are all doing very well and weaning has commenced!

In the meantime since the last update, Rafferty, Tulip and Inka have been for their eye tests and all were great.

We were entered for our first show of the year last weekend - the Southern English Springer Spaniel Championship show under judge, John Lillie.  We had entered five dogs but unfortunately only managed three.  This time Tansy and Inka had to stay at home.  Neverless it proved to be a good start to the year with Rafferty winning the RCC!  Pepe stood alone in Graduate Dog and Millie was second in Open Bitch.  The results of the Jean Taylor awards were also announced and we were delighted to hear that Rafferty was joint Top Dog for 2016 after winning overall Top Overall Springer in 2015.  It was a good day too for other dogs of our breeding, with Lola and Lexi, second and third in Junior Bitch (P Rumours at Strathnaver and P Roma at Kingsheath) and Gigi winning second in the Presidents Stakes class (P Geisha at Meonstoke).  Especially pleased too that Celia Woodbridge's lovely puppy boy, Theo went Reserve Best Puppy in Show!  He is a son of Rafferty :o)  Congrats to you all xxx  Photos below taken at the show by Kay Woodward, thank you :o)

Wednesday 15th February

Long time no updates :o(  Many apologies for that, however we have excuses :o)  Kate's puppies are here and doing well.  Five boys and two girls and some have tan!  One girl is small but is doing well.  No less a worry when they start out life as a tiny one, but she seems very strong.  The others are all monsters!  All puppies from Kate's litter are spoken for.

Sadly Bessie has been scanned and no puppies were seen.  I guess she doesn't care that Dave drove all the way to Sweden for the mating ... sigh!  Anyway, the joys of being a dog breeder.  No doubt we will dust ourselves down and make some new plans.

Soon it will be time for our first show of the year - best get down to some serious grooming.   More puppy pics to follow very shortly.

Thursday 19th January

More puppy news this week, that Bessie has been mated with puppies due around the 18th March.  Such an exciting time ahead.  Dave travelled again to Sweden for a meeting with 'Tage', Multi Champion Trollangens Ohio :o)  Not much snow around he said, although we have learned from previous errors of judgement and went, this time, complete with all weather tyres.  It's the way forward :)   More info on this litter can be found on the Planned Litters page.

Saturday 7th January

Happy New Year to you all!  So here we are at the start of another year :o) and so glad to have some happy puppy news.  Kate has been confirmed in whelp with her babies due early in February.  We are expecting about seven and the proud father is Rafferty.  Please visit the Current Litters page for more details.

Bessie has started her season now ... of course you wait forever for a bus and then four come along at once, or whatever the saying is.  However, this appears to be happening here and we intend to go ahead and have puppies from Bessie too.  A lot of work ahead but as she will be four this year we cannot really delay any longer.  So more info to follow on that very soon.
