March - April 2011

Wednesday 27th April

Lovely news that Brodie (Peasblossom Geisha at Meonstoke) went Best of Breed at Hampshire Gundog under judge Trevor Beaton (Summerstone). Well done from us both!

Another new photo added today to the Gallery in the main menu and also to the dedicated galleries of both Hope and Elliot.

This coming weekend Lacey will be joining us for good so new photos to follow hopefully. We can't wait to see her again....

Sunday 24th April

No news as such, but some new photos added today of Robin winning Best In Show at the Welsh Club Show .... thanks to Di for taking them! Also a couple of new ones of Elliot taken during his Easter weekend away in Norway and finally one of Poppy - sister to Elliot - added to the Gallery in the main menu.

The weather has been incredible - hot and sunny, more like mid summer than April but we are certainly not complaining!

Wednesday 20th April

Another show missed as the kennel cough scare turned into reality for some of our dogs. We were not best pleased to miss it, however the ESSC of Wales Champ Show turned out to be really rather a wonderful day even though we happened to be at home bemoaning our fate. Robin (P Escape to Beresford) won the Graduate Dog class, the Dog CC - his first - and finished the day as BEST IN SHOW!! A really fantastic achievement - well done to Robin and all at Beresford!! We are hoping that some photos of the day might materialise at some point which, we will of course share. Some other nice places were also won on the day by Brodie (P Geisha at Meonstoke) and Halle (P Hope for Beresford) in Junior Bitch and Minor Puppy Bitch respectively. Judge for the day was Angela Mitchell (Heulyn).

Our other news is not show-related at all and involves the arrival of 'Lacey'. She is the daughter of Robin and Rattan and will be joining us very soon. A new page has been set up for her and we have already worked out when her first show will be. Nothing like forward planning of course :o)

New photos added to relevant pages for Hope at 6,5 months, Elliot at 13 weeks and one of Poppy (P Harvest Moon) now six months can be seen in main gallery.

Tuesday 12th April

No show news sadly ... had to miss the ESSC Club Show at the weekend due to a kennel cough scare. We have said this before, but why do people seem unable to consider how their actions might impact on others? If your dogs are coughing or have mixed with others that have been - don't take them to shows or to training classes where they are likely to infect others!!

The Peasblossoms were ably represented at the show, however, by Robin (P Escape to Beresford) who finished second in Yearling Dog and Halle, (Peasblossom Hope for Beresford), who at her very first show, finished second in Minor Puppy Bitch. A new photo of Halle has been added to her page.

Still staying at home for the day brought other rewards in the form of a newly decorated kitchen! The weather has been glorious and we are going to look at some very special puppies on Friday so in fact, all is pretty good with the world :)

Some new photos have been added to Izzie's gallery of her enjoying the sunshine in the garden and finally a new page has been set up for Honor who is now six months old!
She is untrimmed and scruffy in the latest photo but there will be plenty of time for smart 'show' photos in the future.

Sunday 3rd April

Today Seamus has won his 12th CC at the Lancashire & Cheshire Championship Show and again finished BEST IN SHOW!!! The judge was George Clark (Reulemill). A lovely day for our boys as Kye also won Post Graduate Dog and Robin won the Yearling Dog class. Not such a startling day for the girls as Elin was unplaced and Holly finished 4th in her class. You win some, you lose some of course. Sooooo.... back to Seamus. I am remembering a conversation with Helene Bjorkman not so long ago when I told her that Dave wanted to retire Seamus from showing once he had won ten CC's. 'Like f**k he will' was her answer and I guess that she was right and Dave was most definitely wrong!!! (sorry Helene for sharing this story :o) ) Anyway, what a fantastic start Seamus has had to 2011!!!

More news that the I Litter babies have all left us for their new homes. Irma, now Poppy, has gone to live in Sussex and a couple of new pics have been added to the gallery of her in her new home. Elliot, P Innovation, has flown out to Norway to join Vanja at Kennel Winton and a new page has been added for him which can be found via the Dogs Bred By Us section. We were all completely traumatised by the flight fiasco but it seems that Elliot arrived completely unscathed and none the worse for wear. We wish both puppies lots of love and luck for the future.

Finally for now ... Mattie (Peasblossom Caress) has stunned Helma and Rudo by producing no less than eleven puppies! Six girls, and five boys. Good luck with them all from us both.

Monday 28th March

Seamus did it again! This time at the ESSC of Scotland Championship Show under judge, Diane Conrad (Stratnaver). Such a long, long journey but most definitely worth it as Seamus finished with the DCC, his eleventh - and BEST IN SHOW!! Holly also made the trip and was placed second in Post Graduate Bitch. Robin was there flying the Peasblossom flag winning the Junior Dog class and looking beautiful as always.... Lovely show, great food but such a tiny ring!

Got back this morning after driving through the night ... zzzzzz.... it is poor Dave's Birthday today but he will have to wait for his sausage ceremony :o)!!!!

Wednesday 23rd March

Bit of a gap between News updates but yesterday it was Eden's 10th Birthday and she enjoyed the usual sausage ceremony. Now she has reached double figures - it is only half a sausage for each year so she had to make do with five. However that still meant singing Happy Birthday To You at least seven times. Seamus has also had his birthday since the last update, also with five sausages. Eden should probably think about going on strike!

We have been to the SWESSS Open Show. Judge was Cam Cavello from Australia. We had entered Kye, Elin and Holly. Something happened to Kye en route, may be an insect bite or sting but he was in a very bad way when Dave arrived at the show venue and had to be rushed to a vet. Still not sure what caused it but he was back to normal within 24 hours or so. Obviously that overshadowed our day there, but Elin was placed third in Junior Bitch and Holly won Post Grad Bitch. The judge wore very nice shoes so I am told ... which is always important I feel.

Good news from overseas that Kye's son Charlie has won his very first CACIB at a show in Gerona and some new photos have been added to Kye's offspring page of both Charlie and his litter sister, Lara. Congrats from us all Elena!

We hear too that Kitkat has made it into a glossy magazine, 'vi med hund' to be exact. This is one of Denmark's bigger doggy magazines and Kitkat appeared there to advertise a new trick. Susann had taught Kitkat and Pandra a trick which could be called: "Your name - a hit". Both dogs had to learn to ignore a tidbit in Susann's open hand when she called them the "wrong" name i. e. any other name but theirs. Only when they hear their name, while she passes them the tidbit, are they allowed to take it. Clever dogs! A couple of photos have been added to the Gallery page of Kitkat looking very attentive.

New photos too of Hope have been added to her gallery. These were taken at five months. Finally a new photo in the main gallery of Athos who left us at the weekend to go and live with Myah, Holly's daughter. His new name is Seve. We wish him lots of luck for the future with his new family.

Saturday 12th March

What a wonderful day at Crufts! Judge for the day was Ann Corbett (Trimere) and we had decided to take only the two boys. Kye was placed third in Post Grad Dog and we were thrilled when Seamus won the Open Dog class. Winning the CC with Seamus was completely unexpected and a very special moment. Thank you to everyone for the messages of congratulations - we still can't quite believe that it happened!

Congratulations to all the other winners, to BCC & BOB Ch Siegers Extra Point and to Vicky Warrener's homebred baby, Waterswarren Whitewash who was Best Puppy in Breed! It wasn't a bad day either for other Peasblossoms and Seamus babies with Robin (P Escape to Beresford) winning Junior Dog, Brodie (P Geisha at Meonstoke) VHC in Special Puppy Bitch with some lovely placings along the way for the Dexbenella 'twins' Mac and Olivia and not forgetting the GaolachCara 'three' who all did their dad really proud.

A quick thank you to Gary Notley yet again who came up trumps with photographs from the day. We have 'pinched' some of these for our site ... thank you, thank you!

It has been great to spend some time with visitors from overseas too. Louis Kruger from South Africa and Vanja Sliwa and Hege Sagmyr from Norway. Always good to talk 'springers' but especially interesting to hear news from further afield and to swap ideas. Little Aramis (now Elliot) will be leaving here in the not too distant future to join Vanja at Kennel Winton so it will be lovely to watch his progress.

Sunday 6th March

6th March already.....!!! Weather improving here at long last - freezing cold but dry at least!!! We are happy.....!! Lovely news has reached us today that Hope, Peasblossom Heaven Sent has attended her second show in Poland at the very tender age of five months and did it again, this time finishing BEST IN SHOW BABY!!! We don't know much else at the moment but well done to you all and we look forward to hearing the details and may be seeing some photos in due course.

Our 'I' litter babies are doing well, in fact we love them. Having three only has been an absolute pleasure. A few more photos have been added today but they were taken last week ... we are getting a little bit behind now.

New photos too, of Brodie (P Geisha at Meonstoke), Kye, Holly and Robin have also been added to their respective galleries, all taken by Gary Notley at the SESSS Champ Show last weekend. Thank you Gary and expert helpers!
