Monday 4th May
More show news, this time from WELKS. We took four dogs for judge Colin Woodward to cast his eyes over. Pepe, at his first show outing at just six months stood alone in Minor Puppy Dog - what a shame but nevertheless, took it all in his stride. Rafferty had another good day winning Open Dog and finally, the RDCC. Tansy was placed second in Puppy Bitch and Millie won Open Bitch. A good day made all the better for sharing it with Karl Payne :o) Thank you for the help and the laughs (and chips!)
News elsewhere is about Tasha (P Nettle), who made a trip to Spain for an International Show at Irun. Tasha won the Intermediate Class, Best female and Best of Breed. Well done! In Denmark, Kitkat (P Eternity) has been to a Rally Test in Sabro. This was her first time in the Champions Class and she came second out of 68 entered and loved every minute of it. Great achievement! Congratulations. Kitkat graces our Welcome page with a really beautiful photo, but also below are photos of both her and Tasha taken very recently. Click to enlarge ...
Thursday 23rd April
Well what a lovely weekend we had :o) A long awaited visit from Helene and David Bjorkman and a super day at the ESSC of Wales Championship. Helene judged at United Spaniel on Saturday where the Springers enjoyed a successful time of it :o) Sunday we took the long drive down to somewhere in Wales, for the opinion of judge, Marion Morgan. It was again Rafferty's day as he was awarded his sixth CC and BEST IN SHOW!! He has had a truly fantastic start to the year :o) Kye was on his own in Veteran Dog but ended up as Best Veteran In Show. It was also a good day for the girls, with Tansy winning Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy Bitch, Bessie winning Yearling and Millie, first time in Open, was placed second. Really delighted with the day all in all and so nice to be at a show together with good friends.
Thursday 16th April
So we went to the ESSC Championship Show with the four dogs and it was a wonderful day! Rafferty was placed second in the Open Dog class but it was a 'girls day' this time, with all three girls winning their classes. It was Tansy's first champ show and she won Puppy Bitch and was eventually declared Best Puppy Bitch. Bessie won Under Graduate Bitch and Millie won Yearling. Thank you to Daniel and Jayne who helped out in the challenge :o) We were really delighted when Millie was finally awarded the Bitch CC, her fourth and ultimately, RESERVE BEST IN SHOW!!! Congratulations to all the other winners especially 'Echo', Plaiglen Hustle who was BIS! Thank you very much to judge, Di Conrad :) That will be Millie's last Yearling class so she will be up with the big girls from now on. Photos below - thank you to Kay Woodward :o)
Now we are looking forward to the arrival of Helene and David from Sweden. Will be so good to see them. Helene is judging at United Spaniel and we are all off to the Welsh Club Show the following day. There will be hardly enough time to talk :o)
Friday 10th April
No show news for us this time but news instead on my judging appointment at Lancs & Cheshire Championship Show. This was my first CC appointment and I would like to thank everyone for entering their dogs. My CC's went to Melverly Buonne Notte and Roqfolly Miss Moneypenny. Both were their first CC's. RCC's respectively were Sh Ch Meadowdale Chaos and Trimere Truly Scumptious at Reulemill. BP was Loxbourne Disco Diva at Kingsheath. BVIS was Sh Ch Trimere Talking Point of Allenie. All were lovely :o) Critique on its way shortly although we are trying to get four of our own dogs ready for the ESSC Champ Show. Oh how I wished I had worked harder on Bessie's coat before now :o(((((
Here are some photos of the main winners from Lancs & Cheshire :o) Quality is not so great .. I blame the photographer! Click to enlarge :o
Monday 30th March
Oh dear where does the time go? Not too much happening here as we have been tied up with family stuff and illness etc. However since the last update, there was good news from France that Tasha (P Nettle) at the National Spaniel Show won the Reserve CACIB under judge, Moray Armstrong. Well done!
Seamus had his ninth Birthday too with a nine sausage ceremony :o) Really, where does the time go?
Finally Tansy attended her very show at Folkestone & Hythe yesterday and finished as second in the Puppy Group. Really happy with that for her first time out. We were expecting the worst as she can be wild to say the least.....
Tuesday 10th March
Another wonderful Crufts for us has been and gone :o) Rafferty won the Dog CC!!!! Crufts has been so very special and super lucky for us in the past few years so we are still in shock that it continued this year. Our judge was Frank Kane with a huge and lovely entry of Springers. Kye was first in the ring, his first time in Veteran :o) He won the class which made us really happy of course. Rafferty was in Open Dog, a superb class of boys and he won. Kye and Rafferty then challenged all the other boys for best male and the nod was given to Raff for the top spot. Kye was considered very closely for the RCC too so it was a very proud day. Seamus has been a star at Crufts and now his two sons have won CC's there too. Such an achievement and elated would be an understatement.
Millie, was placed 4th in Yearling, not her best performance it has to be said. She stood on a grate under the carpet and must have thought she was falling through the floor judging by her 'over' reaction. Never mind - not her year. A special mention for Annie (P Luna at Zawspring), who with her owner, Zoe Wilson, won the BASC Gamekeepers Working Gundogs English Springer Spaniel Best Bitch and the Sporting Shooter Trophy. Congratulations :o)
Well done to all the other winners, with a special mention for BCC and BOB winner, Melverly Islay Inspired at Lossiedoon :o)
Not too much else to report except some disappointing news that Kate has been scanned and is sadly not in whelp :o( Oh well onwards and upwards as they say!
Photos from Crufts below. Click to enlarge as always ....
