May - June 2011

Monday 27th June

Well here we are nearly at the end of June already. The weather has drastically improved over the last day or two and we are now with hot, hot sun! Saturday, however, was a different story as we set off to Blackpool Champ Show in pouring rain. Although the weather in Blackpool was grey, cold and windy, the rain, unbelievably, stayed away for the whole day. Judge was David Shields and we had (very stupidly!) entered six dogs. Nearly killed us getting that many ready for one show - definitely not the best idea we have ever had! 0330 hours seemed quite early enough to be setting off but we got there only just in time for our first class and consquently were 'on the back foot' and in total disarray for the rest of the day! It was good to finally get to a show together for a change though..... It was a pleasing day all round with class wins for Kye in Post Grad Dog and Honor in Minor Puppy Bitch with seconds for both Seamus, Holly & Lila in Open Dog, Post Grad Bitch and Limit Bitch respectively. Elin was placed third in Grad Bitch with the other Peasblossom contingent of Robin, Rattan, Hennie and Brodie also picking up thirds. Seamus was awarded the RDCC and to our delight, Lila won the RBCC! She hasn't been shown all that much as we have struggled to keep her weight down. We would be sylphs if we were as dedicated to watching our own calorie intake as we are with poor Lila :) but the efforts are beginning to pay off and it was, all in all, a lovely day!

Some good news yesterday from Poland in the form of Hope, (Peasblossom Heaven Sent at Lordsett) who went BEST PUPPY IN SHOW at the Spaniel Special Show in Nauen in Germany. Judge was Angela Hancock from Ireland. Congratulations!!

Saturday 18th June

Last weekend our dogs were entered at the Northern ESS Championship Show. Judge was Frank Bjerklund from kennel Westaway in Norway. A good day for the boys with Kye winning Post Grad Dog and Seamus winning Open Dog. It was the first real show for our baby, Honor and she took it all in her stride finishing second in Minor Puppy Bitch. Elin and Lila both finished third in Grad and Limit Bitch respectively. Not a bad day all in all and in any case, this is always such a nice show at a lovely venue just a shame it is so far to go!

Some news from Southampton & District that Brodie (P Geisha at Meonstoke) had a good day winning Special Yearling and Special Beginners Stakes Classes under judge, Jean Lanning. Well done from us both.

Well the weather has been apalling. Our pleasure at the cooler weather here after the heat of Poland, has been rather short-lived with torrential rain every day :((((

Sunday 12th June

It has been a long time without any updates ... who knows where the time goes?  Last weekend we went to Poland and spent a wonderful few days with friends old and new. Dave judged Springers at the International Dog Show in Leszno on the Saturday and I judged them at the National (Open) Show the following day. The weather was unbelievably hot while we were there, far too hot for dog shows really.... we were never more glad to get off the plane at Stanstead to grey skies and light drizzle!! We were looked after so well and the Polish Kennel Club went to great lengths and expense to ensure that we were well fed and entertained. The hospitality shown to us was really superb. We saw some very nice dogs too - some of which we would have been happy to bring home :) It was great too to spend some time with Kasia and Marcin and to see Ninja and Hope again! Hope, at eight months, is looking really lovely and a photo of her is taking pride of place on the Welcome page for now. A few photos from our Polish trip below....

While we were away, good news arrived in the form of yet another Junior Warrant for a Seamus daughter, this time, 'Olivia' or Dexbenella Inquisitress. Congratulations from us both xx

Southern Counties has been and gone with some nice results for Peasblossoms and Seamus kids. Robin (P Escape to Beresford) won Yearling Dog, Brodie (P Geisha at Meonstoke) was placed third in Junior Bitch and Rattan (P Butterfly at B) was second in Limit Bitch.

Details have been placed on the Current Litters page regarding puppies sired by Seamus. This is not our litter but if you are interested in a puppy, please contact the breeder.

Monday 30th May

No updates for a while as there have been no shows for us to talk about. We have, however, spent a lovely few days with Kasia and Monica who brought Lordsett Grace Kelly to visit Seamus. Hopefully there will be puppies in a few weeks time but in anycase, it was great to see you all!

Elliot (P Innovation) has attended his first shows in Norway at the age of four months. The first, at the Norwegian Spaniel Club Show under judge, Per Iversen and the second for the opinion of judge, Marjo Jaakkola at the Spaniel Specialty the following day. Elliot did well finishing Best Baby Puppy in Breed both days and then BIS2 and BIS3 respectively. Well done from all of us - excellent start!! Maybe some new photos to follow soon ......

Monday 16th May

Have had a lovely weekend, meeting up with Kitkat and family. Always so nice to see you all and hope you have a good time in Wales! Took Honor (P Honeytrap) on a little outing yesterday to Wye Companion Dog Show, arriving too late for the puppy class but thrilled when she was placed fourth in the Open Class and then went on to get Reserve Best Puppy In Show, beaten only by Seamus' daughter Beth (Crackerjanne Call Me Madam) who was BPIS!! Not a big deal in the great scheme of things, but a nice little start to Honor's show career.

Have finally got round to putting some details on the website about our forthcoming litters. Go to Planned Litters to view.

Wednesday 11th May

Went to the National at the weekend ... Holly got a first in Post Grad Bitch, Kye second in Post Grad Dog and Elin a third in Graduate Bitch. Judge was Gareth Lawler.

A new photo has been added to the Welcome page of Lacey, taken now at twelve weeks. She is lovely!

Tuesday 3rd May

More good news from Poland that Hope has finished BEST IN SHOW PUPPY at the Polish Club Show!!! The judge was Jessie Borregaard-Madsen of Kennel Siegers in Denmark. Congratulations to all at Lordsett for a wonderful day!

Lacey is now with us and is such a sweet little angel. Thank you to Trudy and David for this lovely baby. A few photos have been added to the gallery on her dedicated page. More to follow hopefully. Seve, (P Intrigue) has arrived for a fortnight while his owners are on holiday so he and Lacey will no doubt keep each other amused for the time being.

Congrats also to all at Kennel Desperados in Norway, as Seamus' son, Desperados Aladdin won his first CC at Førdeutstillinga! Well done too, to his litter sister, Desperados Alva who successfully completed her Beginners and Open Class for Hunting test and is now ready for a Field Trial. Fantastic photo of her below, taken by Hans Hodne.
