May - June 2017

Saturday 17th June

Sadly since our last update we have lost our beautiful Lila after a short illness.  Such a gentle, kind and sweet girl with never a cross word and the very best show girl we could have dreamed of.  We will remember her always .....

Wednesday 7th June

A teeny bit of show news, where we attended an Open Show, South of England Gundog, with Rafferty and Inka.  Inka was entered in the breed and finished Reserve Best of Breed.  Raff was in the Champion Stakes which he won.  Judges were Jean Collins Pitman and Marina Scott respectively.  That was it for show news.  Still waiting for surgery on my wrists so now more showing activity for a while.

Puppy news, however, that Willow has been confirmed in whelp to Rafferty, so a repeat of the Peasblossom Poet litter.  Pups will be born early in July and it looks, as usual for Willow, to be a good sized litter.  The Current Litters page has been updated with more information on this expected litter.

Monday 8th May

A little bit of show news to share.  We went to WELKS for the opinion of Frank Kane with Tansy, Inka and Millie.  It was a third each for Tansy and Inka who was up with the big girls in Limit, and a second for Millie in Open.  This weekend just gone it was Birmingham National at Stafford for Kay Woodward.  This time with Rafferty, Inka and Millie.  Rafferty won Open and was awarded the CC, his 16th!!  Inka was third and Millie fifth in Open.  We were delighted when Rafferty was finally awarded Best of Breed :o)   Two very enjoyable shows!! :o)   We have an Open Show entered this forthcoming weekend, and then a long but enforced break from shows for a while.  Sadly the grooming is just too much until my hands are sorted.  We will be very sad to miss some judges who we like and admire but sometimes life stuff gets in the way of plans!

Pepe has continued his winning ways in New Zealand where he has gained two more Best of Breeds along with Best Intermediates in Show!  Well done Peps!
