Nov - Dec 2016

Friday 30th December

Well my last update of the year!  Where on earth did that year go?  Not at all a bad year although it doesn't seem as though we attended as many shows as usual or perhaps we have managed to successfully block some of them completely from our memories!!  All joking aside, Rafferty added another four CC's all with Best of Breed and all with Group places!  His tally now stands at 15 CCs and we have been told he finished as third best ESS in the country this year.  We are hugely proud of his achievements.  Millie was out of the ring for most of the year, but returned in September to win another CC, a Best In Show and two RCC's.  Our youngsters too, Pepe, Tansy and Inka have all done us proud.  Pepe will be leaving us in March for pastures very new in New Zealand.  We will miss him but wish him and his new family all the very best of luck!

So what's happening in 2017?  Hopefully we will have some new babies and we have a few litters planned for sure.  Not so easy to find what you are looking for in males these days so time, perhaps, to try something new!  Talking of new, we are also planning our first Cocker litter here which is very exciting!    As to the shows, hmmm, suspect we may do a little less.  It is not quite the enjoyable hobby that it once was for us but as always we will go under judges that appeal and very much continue to do our own thing.

To finish we do wish all our friends and visitors here the best of everything for the New Year and hope that all your dreams come true xx  And finally a little ditty I found somewhere that I think is certainly true at times of this crazy dog world that we inhabit.  Food for thought maybe ??

“Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day. Remember that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are required to set up in the fault-finding business. Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted days combating the menial forces of hate, jealously, and envy. Guard your fragile life carefully. Only God can shape a flower, but any foolish child can pull it to pieces.”  (Og Mandino)

Friday 23rd December

We would like to wish all our friends, fellow exhibitors and visitors to our a site a very Merry Christmas!

Not too much news this end sadly.  Apologies for ever longer delays in updates to this site!  No excuses other than lack of time and a bit of enthusiasm.  Still the next update will be along shortly with news of puppy plans for the coming months.  It feels like a fair amount of time has passed so we are now keen to make plans!  Please visit again soon and in the meantime have a great Christams xxx

Friday 11th November

Moving ever closer to Christmas ... where does the time go, really?  Getting towards the end of the showing year too and cannot say we are feeling too disappointed about that.  We were determinded to do less showing and more decorating this year but that doesn't seem quite to have gone to plan :o(  Still the Midland ESS Champ Show proved to be a good show for us.  It is a lovely show with a warm, welcoming committee and lots of good food!  Judge this year was Barbara Ganarin (Berkenbar).  We took four dogs for her opinion.  Rafferty had a rest and stayed at home but we had class wins with Pepe, Tansy and Millie.  Amy came too and handled both Pepe and Inka to a third in Yearling.  Amy also handled Millie's daughter, Ana and even though she was alone in Minor Puppy Bitch, gave a good account of herself and was very happy about it too!  Millie was awarded her fifth CC and finally BEST IN SHOW.  We were delighted and cannot believe how she has bounced back from her litter in March winning a CC and two RCC's in her first three shows.   Photo below from Kay Woodward xxx.

Still no definite puppy news, but we are waiting (ever waiting!) for Bessie to start her season.  We think it is imminent however, so more news soon hopefully ...
